Let's talk about writing a job posting.
There's a lot of talk these days about writing a resume; the internet and LinkedIn are full of advice on how job seekers should proceed. But no one stops to consider whether the job posting itself is written correctly. After all, how can you write a tailored resume or a high-quality cover letter if the job posting is written poorly?
The 1-2-3 model doesn't work anymore. And everyone—really, almost everyone—offers meal vouchers!
But how should we think about making a job position attractive? Most positions are presented from the organization's perspective. Can we flip that and create a position from the applicant's perspective?
During the meeting, we will open up following questions:
Do we understand the problem to be solved and the context of the job? Who should participate in the preparation?
- How long journey of duty do we want to go with the candidate, and why?
- What if the job proposal changes the typical way work is organized and requires changes within the organization?
What value do we provide to the candidate in the long term? Why should they join us, and what impact will it have on their life and career?
How do we integrate motivation?
- Do we need a very long list of "benefits"?
A well-written job posting will appeal to people in the target group. It will allow them to think about their value to the organization as a basis for proposing a partnership and long-term collaboration.
Let's not be afraid to take a critical look at at the issue and try to radically innovate activities that many consider immutable.
I invite you to join in the discussion. Let's change the way we work in recruitment!
